Camera Obscura - Let's Get Out Of This Country

The third CD by Scotland's Camera Obscura, 'Let's Get Out Of This Country', is a delightful blast of dreamy indie-pop that is perfect for settling into a blissful haze at the end of a busy day. Vocalist Traceyanne Campbell's voice is as syrupy-sweet as always, and even in such downtempo offerings as 'Dory Previn', one can't help but smile, even just a little bit. I find that this album harks back to some of the female vocalists of the 60's, where it didn't matter how controversial the subject matter was, the songs always came across as completely innocent. Not that there's a lot of controversy to be found here. The band keeps it clean, and has never sounded more comfortable or more professional.
